This event will bring together, for the first time in West Africa’s Gulf of Guinea, internationally renowned oilfield scientists, engineers, R&D experts to present, discuss, and share their experience and expertise in oilfield biotechnology and its potential applications in sustaining and improving oil production in onshore and offshore reservoirs in West Africa.

Speakers will be drawn from top-rated oilfield R&D labs, research and service companies, foreign government research labs, and oil multinationals. They will be presenting case studies, and sharing real world experiences from the field and from the lab. The technical programme will cover:

• Microbial Souring of Offshore Reservoirs
• Mechanisms, Management, and Monitoring of Microbial Influenced
  Corrosion of Offshore Oil Installations
• Microbial Methods for Improved Production and Enhanced Oil Recovery
• Biogeochemical Prospecting for Oil and Gas
• Bioremediation as a Clean-up Option in the Niger-Delta

The programme also includes 2-day courses and tutorials on: oilfield microbiology; practical aspects of field-wide control of souring with nitrate in offshore reservoirs; and bioremediation of oil spills sites and oily wastes.

The event presents a great opportunity for engineers, reservoir production teams, reservoir management teams, EOR personnel, operators of marginal oilfields, oilfield remediation teams, and oilfield R&D scientists, and anyone who want to understand and apply current knowledge in oilfield biotechnology for sustaining and improving production, as well as for sustainable environment-friendly oil exploration and production.
